Hello,The Department of Surgery is currently looking for a full-time, permanent Administrative Assistant within the division of Urology. Please see below for the details.Under the general direction of the surgeon(s), the employee is responsible to perform a full range of administrative/clinical support services. This will include scheduling patient appointments (clinics, consults, follow-ups), updating and maintaining patient records, screening incoming calls and emails, checking in patients and performing other administrative tasks as required for a clinical environment. The employee will frequently interact with other administrative assistants, surgeons, trainees, nurses and other hospital staff.

Education
Completion of a High School DiplomaCompletion of a community college medical administrative/secretarial diploma program or equivalent

The Ottawa Hospital
Starting July 1, 2018, all candidates must have completed the Ottawa Hospital Environmental Services certificate in order to be considered for this position. You can register for this course at any time and complete the e-learning modules at your own pace. The e-learning modules are free to members of the public. There will be two practical training days following the completion of the e-learning modules at a cost of 100$ per person.
