Job Description

The purpose of the Senior Commercial Manager role is to establish a procurement/category strategy in conjunction with business stakeholders and suppliers; and then deliver on this strategy ensuring successful commercial and contractual delivery of products and services to the business. As the Senior Commercial Manager sitting within Group Procurement, you will assist in several key IT portfolios with a specific focus on Cloud Infrastructure. You will support the Head of and Executive Manager to deliver Group Procurement objectives while managing and controlling the operation of contracts between Westpac Bank and its suppliers.Key Responsibilities include:Develop category plans and procurement strategy by understanding business requirements and business strategy for allocated products and services with a primary focus on public and private cloud services. Identify and plan activities which will be lead or supported by Group Procurement, making sure these are completed successfully.Maintain a strong understanding of the market, available suppliers, trends, pricing and product/service development, ensure that Westpac is taking full advantage of the capabilities of suppliers and contesting supply where necessary with the aim of maintaining best in class services and commercial terms.Manage and conduct commercial governance of suppliers that are responsible for delivering services to Westpac working closely with service owners and operational governance teams to measure supplier performance and ensure that standards are met and rewarded.
