Technical Director, Transmission Line Engineering (Te Whanganui-a-tara)Technical design leadership role, working with a peer group of Technical Directors, who together lead the delivery of highly specialised and complex transmission designs in Australia and New ZealandLead the delivery of critical power related infrastructure projects, that enable the decarbonisation and electrification of the energy supply chain, across complex, varied and challenging projectsBe part of a specialist team, who work collaboratively to lead the technical delivery and project outcomes, while also developing and coaching the next generation of Beca Power engineers for the industryTe kinga rua | The opportunityTechnical and project delivery leadership role, working with a collaborative peer group of specialist and highly experienced subject matter experts, who together lead the responsibility for technical excellence and delivery across Beca’s Australasian Power Transmission Line, Distribution and engineering technical professional areas.Our Technical Director and Principal roles are broad, complex and impactful, providing a critical design and verification role for highly specialised and complex projects. You will have responsibility to ensure the final scope, design and delivery of transmission line designs and projects exceed client specifications, safety, industry technical standards, and project delivery requirements. However, you won’t be alone. You will be working with an experienced peer group of Technical Directors, Principals, project delivery leaders, client management teams, and associated other technical experts who are leaders in their own field. This is a growth opportunity role to join an established business and team with broad and deep client relationships, yet with the scope for you to make a difference across the industry applying your technical and subject matter expertise, with a team of like-minded peers.You will also be giving back to the industry, with a significant part of your role focusing on developing the next generation of Beca Power, transmission and distribution engineers. You will be providing mentoring and coaching in a way that empowers and enables others, from graduate to Associate and higher career levels, through on the job coaching, as well as through more formal development processes including supporting Beca’s Technical Development program for Power engineers. In addition to the technical and specialised aspects to this role, you will also have input into client focused tasks including providing input into bidding and proposal preparation processes as the technical subject matter expert. Commercial judgement in understanding design, project, task and project budgets will be important in this role.
