Job description
The Legal Counsel is responsible to act as a trusted legal and business advisor to internal stakeholders and the business unit functions under the aviation arm of Capital A Berhad on a wide variety of legal issues related to business operations. WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of early-stage agreements (e.g., Letter of Intent, NDAs, MOUs) commercial and service agreements from various Business Units.Provide legal support, resolving legal disputes, claims, managing and instructing external counsels.Provide legal support and guidance to various departments within the organization, including operations, finance, and procurement.Conduct legal research and stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes and best practices.Support other legal initiatives and projects as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer or senior management.
Responsibilities & skills
Strong people management skills, working with different cultures, skill levels and the ability to handle a range of client demands, mixing project work and day to day transactions in a fast-paced environment.
Education
Law degree and professional legal qualification with minimum 5 to 6 years post-qualification experience working in a law firm and/or or in-house legal department of a medium to large international corporation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in clearly explaining legal concepts and issues to non-lawyers and providing succinct, accurate and comprehensible legal advice.
