We are currently seeking an on-call Post Office Assistant who takes a customer-focused approach when providing counter service to customers. Note: The ideal candidate should live in the community in question. Applications from people who do not live in the post office community may be considered if necessary.Professional responsibilitiessell postal products and services to businesses and the public;properly sort, distribute and process mail;providing clients with information and forms;deal with delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems quickly and completely.
Responsibilities & skills
Education
Sufficient fitness to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 lbs., push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods of timeFlexibility to be available for temporary on-call tasks
Experience
High school diploma or provincial equivalent, or experience in business administrationTraining and/or experience related to interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
