Job Description

The team builds the API foundation that connects Atlassian products and makes Teamwork Graph available to customers, developers, and AI agents. We own the Atlassian GraphQL Gateway and build Teamwork Graph’s external API capabilities across Model Context Protocol (MCP), CLI, and direct APIs, along with the shared metering and monetization capabilities behind them.In this role, you’ll turn connected work context into products that developers and customers can easily adopt and use. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and other engineers to understand customer problems, shape solutions, and take them from early prototypes through production launch and iteration.We’re looking for someone who cares about both the product experience and the systems behind it. You should be comfortable designing intuitive APIs, building reliable backend services, and using customer feedback and production data to decide what to improve next. You’ll work primarily in Kotlin and TypeScript, with some Rust, building the backend services and developer experiences behind Teamwork Graph’s external APIs.Responsibilities:StrategyPartner with Product, Design, and engineering peers to shape Teamwork Graph externalization features for developers, customer applications, and AI agents.Translate customer needs into technical designs, making practical tradeoffs across usability, delivery speed, reliability, security, and cost.Contribute to the team’s technical direction, identifying opportunities for shared capabilities and consistent experiences across MCP, CLI, and direct APIs.
