Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity12-Month fixed-term opportunityAs Data & Information Lead, you will play a critical role in the University of Auckland’s multiyear Finance Transformation Programme, one of the most significant change initiatives currently underway in the organisation. This programme is reshaping finance from a largely transactional function into a strategic, insightdriven partner, enabled by a new finance platform, redesigned processes, and a modern operating model.In this role, you will define and deliver the data strategy, governance framework, migration approach, and technical architecture that underpin the programme’s data workstream. You will lead data migration from legacy systems through to postgolive operations, ensuring data integrity, quality, security, and longterm fitness for purpose. Working across finance, technology, and programme teams, you will enable trusted data for reporting, analytics, and decisionmaking, while embedding strong data ownership and stewardship practices.Key responsibilities include:Leading data strategy, governance, and ownership models across finance systems and business domains.Designing and executing largescale finance data migration, including mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and cutover readiness.Defining targetstate finance data models and master data structures (e.g. chart of accounts, projects, employees).Ensuring data quality, security, and compliance throughout the programme lifecycle and into businessasusual operations.Partnering with business, technology, and integration teams to ensure data integrity across interfaces and reporting solutions.Supporting testing phases (SIT, UAT), defect resolution, and postimplementation data stability.This is a 12-Month fixed term, full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with a salary range of $165,000 - $171,000 per annum, depending on experience.
