Job Details: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bosun to join a team in Lagos. As a Bosun, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of ther vessel. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the maritime industry.Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate deck crew activities during vessel operations.Oversee the maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of the vessel's deck and equipment.Assist in the training of deck crew members in seamanship, safety procedures, and equipment operation.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, including the implementation of safety drills and inspections.Perform routine inspections of deck equipment, ensuring proper functioning and identifying any issues for repair or replacement.Assist with mooring and anchoring operations, including the handling of lines and rigging.Maintain inventory of deck supplies, equipment, and spare parts, and requisition items as needed.
Responsibilities & skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in a maritime environment.Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Education
Experience
Proven experience as a Bosun or similar role on board vessels of similar size and type.
