Full job descriptionJob Summary:The Furniture Merchandiser is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the selection, sourcing, and implementation of furnishing elements for various interior projects. This role bridges design aesthetics with functional requirements, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of furniture, fixtures, and accessories that align with client needs and project goals.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with interior designers, project managers, and clients to understand furnishing requirements.Source furniture, soft furnishings, accessories, and decor items from vendors and suppliers.Prepare and present furnishing proposals, mood boards, and material boards for client approval.Coordinate with suppliers for pricing, samples, and delivery timelines.Ensure quality control and specification compliance of all furnishings.Manage the inventory, procurement, and installation schedule of furnishing items.Supervise on-site installation of furnishings and ensure proper placement and styling.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, materials, and brands in the furniture and interior decor industry.Handle after-sales support, defect management, and product maintenance if needed.Prepare cost estimates, purchase orders, and furnishing budgets in coordination with the finance or procurement team.
Responsibilities + Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or interior design software (e.g., SketchUp, Photoshop).Good communication and client-handling skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.34 years in a similar role within the interior design or furnishing industry.
Education
Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field (preferred).Visual Merchandiser in Furnishing StoresProven experience in furniture selection, sourcing, or interior project coordination.Strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail.
