Job Functions and Duties:Perform electrocardiograms in multi-settings including proper electrode placement.Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart in relation to waves, complexes, time and voltage as shown through the conduction system and strip interpretation.Communicate appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, co-workers, and physician.Enter and verify orders in the computer system.Treat patients and families with respect and dignity.Interact professionally with providers and staff.Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.Ensure the documentation meets current standards and policies.Answer telephone/intercom in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate personnel.Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization.Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Responsibilities & skills
Education
High school diploma or equivalent requiredOne year of recent healthcare experience in a comparable job classification required.
Experience
Telemetry Certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.

7. Performs ambulance registrations and charge posting within designated deadlines in order to assure revenue is recorded accurately and in a timely fashion.8. Maintains insurance and employer master files to reflect most current data. Processes faxed copies of insurance cards and updates patient accounts within 24 hours of receipt of fax.9. Accessible for registrations, patient transfers and/or EMPI functions during entire shift, using a pager as necessary to meet position requirements.10. During periods of system downtime and/or hours of non-coverage in HIM Department, performs the following key activities:a. Maintains communication systems for notifying other departments in the event of duplicate medical record number assignment occurring in a real time environment.
