The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft currently operates 76 institutes and research facilities in Germany and is the world's leading organization for application-oriented research. The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT is part of the Fraunhofer Society and, with around 150 employees at the Itzehoe site, is a leader in industry and research at a national and international level. The scientists develop power electronics components and silicon-based microsystems. The focus of the power electronics business area is on the development of innovative, active and passive power semiconductor components based on silicon and gallium nitride and their integration into power electronic systems. Tasks For our Innovative Components working group, we are now looking for an employee to carry out research projects. The activity includes the following areas of responsibility: Intensive participation in the development of power transistors based on GaN-on-Si substrates with breakdown voltages of up to 1200 V from the conception phase to pilot production. Adaptation of common semiconductor processes as well as development of gallium nitride and silicon semiconductor technology processes. Supervision of the Component production in our clean rooms Supporting in-line characterization as well as the following electrical characterization at wafer and die level
