Waste and Recycling team member required for Brisbane Southside Council Your new companyBased at one of the Council’s Depot, the position will form part of a work team providing assistance with recovery of recyclable materials from the waste stream and subsequent redirection of this waste, and general maintenance of the facilities.Your new roleIdentify and recover material suitable for resaleRecover recycling products from customersPreparation and presentation of the recycling areaMaintaining waste management regulations on siteLoad resale products into cages, trailers, containers, trucks and transport correctlyUse of appropriate PPE in accordance to established proceduresCommunication skills with the public
Responsibilities + Skills
Ability to cope with physical labourHep A, Hep B and tetanus shots, or willing to obtain
Education
Cash handling skillsMust have previous experience in dealing with second-hand goods and assessing their market value
