Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.To help our teams work together effectively, this role is fully remote but requires you to be located in Australia or New Zealand.We're looking for a Software Engineer who has experience with Kubernetes to join our team focused on delivering improvements to the Bitbucket Pipelines platform.Your future teamBitbucket Pipelines is a fast-growing product in Atlassian, utilising lightweight Kata VMs in Kubernetes, and Java-based services for orchestration and provisioning.Bitbucket Pipelines permits you to work with the latest in infrastructure technology, applying your knowledge of Software Engineering and Infrastructure principles to deliver secure, fast, interactive customer experiences.Responsibilities:In this role, you will:Build and ship features and capabilities daily in a highly scalable, cross-geo distributed environment;Be part of an amazingly open and collaborative work environment with other experienced engineers, architects, product managers, and designers;Review code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, reliability, security, and performance considerations in mind;Mentor and level up the skills of your teammates by sharing your expertise in knowledge-sharing sessions;Ensure complete visibility, error reporting, and monitoring of high-performing backend services;Participate in Agile software development, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, and show-and-tell demo sessions;You will report directly to your Engineering Manager.
